Purposed by Travelling with Hotel and Travel Management group and created by Signyan Design Studio, Sunyata Hotel Chongqing is the first urban resort for this boutique design hotel chain. It is also the first hotel project by SYY Studio for architectural conservation.

由行李旅宿委任，尚壹扬工作室Signyan Design Studio担当室内设计，既下山·重庆是设计度假酒店既下山的首间城市作品，亦是既下山首间由文保建筑改造的酒店项目。

Located in the Nannan district with a panoramic view of many iconic landmarks in Chongqing, Sunyata Hotel Chongqing is re-purposed in a historical neighborhood with two conservation buildings: Xinhua Bank and the Military Officer Villa of the American Embassy—the two buildings are the passageways to the public area of the scenic location. Xie Ke, the interior designer who led the project, has formed a boutique and modern hotel design with a touch of Chongqing characters.

既下山·重庆坐落于南岸区，对望湖广会馆、洪崖洞、解放碑等重庆地标。酒店由新华银行旧址及美国使馆武官别墅两栋区级文保建筑组成，另一栋龙门浩9号楼为按旧图纸、使用旧砖瓦修建的三层建筑，位处龙门浩老街最高点。两组建筑中为景区公区通道。谢柯旨在有限的改造尺度中，完成对重庆性格的叙述，并跳脱出建筑的民国时代印痕，呈现更为当代化的酒店体验。

The 16-room boutique design hotel is the gateway for international travelers. With a grey and white-dominate color palette dressed with shades of bronze, Xie re-imagines the elegance and grace from the period of The Republican. He creates a sensational and immersive experience without being restrained by certain references or styles. Details such as the deepening of the window frame to create theatrical shading, abandoning the auto curtains, and replacing them with manual ones are examples of new intellectual luxury. A pond with a seating area is located behind the Villa building, resonating with the memory of living in Chongqing—a life by the river.

谢柯将酒店的16间客房打造成一位世界文化旅者在重庆的驿站。白色与灰调成为空间中的主色调，并搭配黄铜来抽象地呈现民国记忆的历史感，而非具象化地重构与再叙述。在科技智能化甚嚣尘上的今天，谢柯在酒店设计中一反科技的过度使用，用手拉窗帘替代自动窗帘、并加厚内墙纵深，以加强窗框的深度，为空间中的使用者塑造更强烈的空间浸入感。同时在武官别墅背后，谢柯修建出一方水塘，呼应重庆人的江岸情节与其周安置休憩区。

Sunyata Hotel Chongqing paves the way for a design paradigm for Chinese cultural elites. The project creates a new identity for Asian boutique hotels: a fourth space alongside the hotel, club, and home.

既下山·重庆呈现了文化精英品味的设计论调，同时打造了东方精品酒店的独有特质：一种在酒店、公馆及家之外的第四种状态。

Xie Ke said: “At dusk, the bridge beside the architecture lights up orange lighting, corresponding to the colors of the opposite Yuzhong Peninsula. In the morning, the people on the opposite bank look at us via the misty river because they are attracted by Nanshan Scenic Spot, and we hide beneath it.”

谢柯说：“傍晚时，建筑旁边的桥亮起橘黄色灯光，与对岸渝中半岛的色彩遥相呼应，而清晨时，对岸的人透过烟雨蒙蒙的江面又望向我们，他们被这边的南山吸引，我们则隐藏在南山之下。”
