The project is located in Sanya, but it is not by the sea. It is nestled amidst the surrounding undulating mountains and is enclosed by neighboring villa communities. If the building were to rise upwards, it would have a strong line of sight with the residential areas, offering no privacy whatsoever, which would be highly unfavorable for both hotel guests and the neighboring residents. In contrast to the bustling surroundings, this place offers a natural sense of seclusion and leisure, but it also comes with its own contradictions and limitations. The primary challenge in the design process is how to create new spaces that seamlessly integrate with the original site while providing the comfort, freedom, and privacy that 'people' require for living.

项目位于三亚，但并不临海，既被四周起伏的山形合抱，也被紧邻的别墅社区住宅围合。建筑一旦向上建立，将会跟住宅有很强的对视，毫无隐私可言，对酒店住客和周边居民都极其不友好。相比于喧闹环境，这里既有天然的隔绝感与闲适感，同时也有它自身的矛盾及局限性。设计所面对的首要问题是新的空间建造，以什么样的态度融入到原始场地之中，并赋予“人”居住其中所需的舒适、自由与隐私。

Intuition told Xie Ke that the hotel should be submerged below ground, offering the community residents a garden. This approach not only seeks to avoid the sense of visual intrusion and harsh sunlight issues but also aims to present a different landscape and context. Amidst the architectural voids, there is the expanse of the blue sky overhead, picturesque distant mountains, the melodious chirping of birds in the courtyard, and the soft, dappled shadows on the walls. All of these elements resonate harmoniously with the sunken space and its occupants, dissolving the clamor and noise in the distance, allowing people to return to themselves, back to the homeland of their spirit and emotions.

直觉告诉谢柯，要把酒店沉在底下，还社区居民一个花园，不仅尽可能规避对视的挤压感和刺眼的阳光问题，更意图通过“沉下去”呈现出另一种景观与情境：在建筑的留白之间，头顶碧蓝的天空，远山如画的局部，庭院婉转的鸟鸣，墙上柔和斑驳的疏影......皆与下沉的空间和人呼应和谐，消解远处的喧闹和嘈杂，让人返归自身，返归精神与情感的原乡。

The upper floor of the building houses the lobby and bar spaces, and from there, one descends into the sunken courtyard in the middle. This design addresses both lighting and ventilation issues. The courtyard itself is an organic structure, maintaining a comfortable temperature even in hot weather, allowing the indoor area to remain comfortable without air conditioning. The guest rooms are situated on the lower level, ensuring privacy through the use of screens and courtyard vegetation while still providing a connection to nature just a window away. The roof, on the other hand, serves as a garden that grows freely. When the wind blows and sunlight bathes the area, we can sense the essence of life in its truest form.

建筑上层是大堂和酒吧空间，由上及下便进入中部的下沉式庭院，可以解决中间的采光以及通风问题，庭院本身是一个有机建筑，在炎热的气温，室内不开空调也能达到一个舒适的温度;客房隐在下层，利用栅栏和天井植物，保证私密性的同时，在房间里也能与自然仅一窗之隔;屋顶部分，则是一个自由生长的花园，当风吹过，光洒下，我们能感受到生活中真正本质的东西。
